Compact Workshop: Negotiating in English

Micro-Learning-Series Starting The Meeting in Business English

What you can expect

Focus on the deal – not your mistakes!

Imagine this: You’re involved in a price negotiation with a supplier, and everything’s going well when suddenly you can’t think of the right word or phrase in English. Your mind goes blank and you find yourself searching madly for the right word…your focus shifts from the task at hand – the negotiation – to your English. Our Negotiating in English workshop will help you find the right language and strategies to help you overcome these challenges and stay focused on getting the best deal possible. Even if you’re relatively confident negotiating in English, our workshop offers the chance to get invaluable feedback about your strengths and weaknesses and further polish your skills.

Our workshop will cover

  • Welcomes, introductions & making small talk
  • Opening the negotiation: objectives, priorities, timing
  • Stating your positions, getting the facts right & showing interest
  • Proposals and counter-proposals, bargaining
  • When things get difficult: clearing up misunderstandings, being non-committal, dealing with aggressive questioning, downtoning
  • Closing the deal & ending the negotiation
